Pre-Survey or Preliminary Inspection & Report

( Short or Walk Through Survey )

Looking for your ideal yacht can be very expensive in travelling and hotel costs, while going around the country examining what is offered for sale.

A preliminary inspection / survey will establish whether or not the vessel is worthy of a full condition survey, particularly useful if someone is to commission a survey having not seen the boat themselves.

Very often it will save you much time and effort if I perform a pre-survey inspection and report. This type of inspection is often called a 'Walk through survey' or a 'Short survey'.

The  pre-survey inspection will take approximately 3 to 5 hours to complete and involves the surveyor looking at the vessel in a general manner and taking photographs to ascertain if it will be to your advantage to travel and examine the vessel for yourself.

If required I will telephone you with a verbal report immediately.

A brief report and relevant photographs can be emailed the same day.

A report and a number of general photographs on a CD are sent to you for you to assess the suitability of the vessel by post within three days. The surveyor can be contacted at any time to discuss any details.

This is not a survey, it is a brief inspection and will only highlight the general condition and any faults which are visibly obvious.

This type of inspection is charged on an hourly basis at £40.00 per hour plus any travelling expenses.
